ICC-ES Expands Certification Offerings for the Australian Market under the CodeMark Scheme

Additional global accreditation empowers ICC-ES to provide a broader scope of expert certification services for manufacturers

BREA, CALIFORNIA –  ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) is proud to announce its accreditation by JASANZ as a certification body for CodeMark Australia. This development enables ICC-ES to certify new or innovative building products in Australia by providing a nationally accepted process for demonstrating compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) under the CodeMark Scheme. CodeMark Australia is a voluntary third-party building product certification scheme, administered by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB).

As part of its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the construction industry, ICC-ES is now equipped to offer CodeMark certification, alongside its other expert certification services, helping to ensure that building products used in Australia meet the highest levels of safety, quality, and performance.

David Tompos, Executive Vice President of Conformity Assessment at ICC, stated, “We are excited to expand our certification services to Australia through our new role as a CodeMark certification body. This accreditation demonstrates our ongoing initiative to uphold required standards and support the construction industry with reliable, trusted certification services.”

In addition to accreditation by JASANZ for the CodeMark Scheme, ICC-ES has received endorsement for the ES Mark Scheme. ICC-ES marks provide evidence that a product has undergone a rigorous technical evaluation, ensuring compliance with the latest applicable codes and standards. These marks are widely used around the world. With JASANZ endorsement, the ES Mark Scheme will now be available to manufacturers in Australia, as well as manufacturers who export to Australia.

The Australian construction industry is poised for significant growth, driven by urbanization, infrastructure development, and a strong demand for residential and commercial buildings. With this growth comes a heightened need for reliable building products that comply with national standards and regulations.

This accreditation and endorsement allows ICC-ES to offer an expanded scope of services, helping manufacturers navigate the complex regulatory landscape and deliver products that meet the expectations of building professionals and consumers alike.
