ICC-ES Receives California Air Resources Board Approval to Conduct Third Party Certification Services for Composite Wood Products
Manufacturers can now obtain CARB approval through ICC-ES
ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES)—the experts in building product evaluation and certification—has received the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approval to provide third party certification services to manufacturers of composite wood products destined for sale, supply or use in California.
CARB’s approval allows ICC-ES to conduct CARB certification to section 93120.4 of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, title 17, California Code of Regulations, sections 93120-93120.12.
“ICC-ES is pleased to receive this recognition from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to become an CARB-approved third party certifier (TPC) of composite wood products,” said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian, P.E. “This substantial achievement strengthens ICC-ES’ technical expertise and experience in building product certification, while adding more value and options to clients.”
The products that can be certified under this program are hardwood plywood, medium density fiberboard, and particle board products. Such products are sold, offered for sale, imported to, or manufactured in the United States.
