ICC-ES Completes ESR-1530 Supplement to the Chicago Building Code

Proof of compliance to state and regional codes available as an additional service to aid in product acceptance in local markets

Brea, Calif. – ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), a member of the International Code Council family of solutions and the experts in building product evaluation and certification, issued the company’s first Chicago supplement to Blue Point Fasteners, Inc. for powder-actuated fasteners and ceiling clip assemblies.

With an expanding worldwide demand for safe and resilient buildings, it is more important than ever to prove that the products used to build them meet the local regulations. ICC-ES evaluates to the latest Chicago construction codes, including the 2019 Chicago Building Code, Title 14B and Supplement.

“The ICC-ES team worked quickly to add our .157 shank pins and other critical components to our ESR-1530,” said Chris Mackzum, Sales Director at Bluepoint Fasteners. “ICC-ES worked with us to coordinate the efforts with our independent testing facility and helped us work through some of the technical data required. Adding the Chicago Title 14 as a supplement allows us to gain awareness and acceptance in one of the largest construction markets in the country. As the world’s largest manufacturer of Pre-Tied Ceiling Clips, it is vitally important that we add this supplement to an effort that supports the many contractors that use our products.”

ESR-1530 has also been evaluated for compliance to the California Building Code (CBC) and the Florida Building Code, for which ICC-ES supplements are available. ESR-1530 is available for viewing here.

ICC-ES encourages manufacturers to comply with the most current codes to increase market acceptance. For more information about updating your product’s code compliance to the current codes, contact ICC-ES at 800-423-6587 or es@icc-es.org.
