ICC-ES Safe & Sustainable Cabinetry Program (SASC)

The ICC-ES Safe and Sustainable Cabinetry (SASC) program is a valuable tool for cabinet manufacturers who want to demonstrate their commitment to safety, sustainability and environmental responsibility and provide consumers with clear and transparent information about the product's environmental impact.
The SASC Program provides independent and comprehensive third-party verification for cabinet manufacturers on the performance, sustainability and environmental requirements outlined in EC118.

Independent and Rigorous Evaluation of Cabinet Quality

  • ICC-ES is accredited by ANAB to certify cabinets to ANSI A161.1
  • Cabinet testing is conducted at third-party ISO/IEC 17025 accredited test labs
  • Manufacturing facilities are periodically inspected by ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection bodies.
  • Product and Manufacturing Sustainability Attributes:

    • Biobased Content
    • Formaldehyde Emission Compliance
    • Greenhouse Gas Emission Measurement
    • Water Consumption Monitoring and Reduction
    • Waste Recycling and Repurposing

SASC offers a tiered ranking system in which manufacturers may demonstrate green, silver, or gold level compliance with the program.
