The ICC Evaluation Service EPA Approved Formaldehyde Emission Listing Program is Growing at a Rapid Pace

The ICC-ES Listing Program includes value-added services for wood-based composite products

Brea, Calif. – The ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has been offering third-party certification under the Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products Rule for only a few months, and has since grown to dozens of customers worldwide.

All producers of composite wood panels are required to have their products certified by an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-recognized third-party certifier to ensure their products are compliant.

ICC-ES is one of only a few providers worldwide that is approved by the EPA and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to certify that composite wood products sold, supplied, offered for sale, imported to or manufactured in the United States are compliant with the formaldehyde emission standards.

The ICC-ES Listing program is a fast and cost-effective way for manufacturers of building products covered by existing consensus standards to show product compliance with standards referenced in the building codes and other applicable codes.
