ICC-ES Board of Directors Extends Date for Compliance with 2009 Codes

The ICC-ES Board of Directors approved an amendment to extend the date for compliance with the 2009 codes as follows:

  • A motion passed unanimously to extend the date on which ICC-ES will require compliance with the 2009 codes to July 1, 2010.
  • Compliance with the 2006 codes will be mandatory until July 1, 2010.
  • Compliance with the 2009 codes will be optional between January 1 and July 1, 2010.

This transition period will give staff more time to establish requirements for the 2009 codes and give report applicants more time to comply. Report applicants that are adding the 2009 codes are encouraged to keep the 2006 codes in the report to cover those jurisdictions that do not adopt the 2009 codes immediately.

ICC-ES will maintain its current policy of not adding the 2009 codes to evaluation reports before January 1, 2010.
